ZS1090-0003 is a Beckhoff RJ45 plug field assembly. It is made of plastic and its color is black. The assembly can be used with fieldbus and EtherCAT network cables. It can be used with new cables or to replace faulty connectors on network cables. The plug assembly is shielded. It has a plug type male RJ45 connector. The number of positions on the connector face are four. The wire termination type is IDC. Compatible cable size range from AWG 22 to AWG 24 (0.25 to 0.34 mm2 wire cross-section). Maximum outer diameter of the cables must be within the 4.5 to 9.0 millimeter range. Length of the ZS1090-0003 assembly is 52.6 millimeters. Protection class of the assembly is IP20. The connector on the assembly is designed 14 millimeter standard grid dimension. This ensures an optimal component density for all applications. A few simple steps are required to quickly connect the assembly to an EtherCAT/Ethernet cable by using IDC technology.
The first step is to push the housing and cable gland over the cable sheath. Then strip the output cable sheath 24 millimeters and the inner shielding screen 13 millimeters. After that the four individual wires on the cable must be prepared for insertion according to the standard color code into the splicing element. After preparation, the wires should be properly inserted into the splicing element. Any wires protruding from the element can be cut if required. The splicing element can now be inserted in the ZS1090-0003 plug assembly. Now place the splicing element and data module into the assembly module and press the element and the data module. After removing the data module from the assembly tool, place the upper shield on the cable screen.
