Product Description:
Beckhoff manufactures the ZS1052-2600 as part of its ZS Motion Accessories series. This component is an M12 Y-splitter that divides one sensor-bus trunk into two branches, allowing distributed motion devices to share the same fieldbus line without extra terminal boards. By combining branching and shielding in a single molded body, the splitter shortens installation time and preserves signal integrity in industrial automation networks. Its overmolded polyurethane shell tolerates machine vibration and resists cutting oils encountered near servo axes.
Internally the connector is A-Coded, matching the standard pin assignment used for sensor and bus wiring. It supports a maximum operating potential of 60 V and can convey 4 A at 40 °C through its nickel-plated contacts, which are arranged in a male plus female configuration to join in-line and drop cables. A screw sleeve provides the locking method; when tightened to 0.6 Nm, the metal coupling meets the enclosure class of IP65/67, and the creepage distances correspond to insulation group II requirements. Because both branch sockets are wired in parallel, two compact actuators can be energized from one upstream supply without exceeding permissible temperature rise limits.
The splitter interfaces directly with CANopen/DeviceNet segments, so no additional termination hardware is required. Its compact M12 housing retains the full 5-Pin channel set, preserving shield, supply, and differential data lines for deterministic motion commands. An insulation resistance of ≥100 MΩ helps the device maintain signal quality over time, even when mounted in areas classified as pollution level 3 inside machines that generate oil mist or fine dust. Recessed, touch-proof contacts allow the branch leads to be unplugged or reconnected while power remains on, and the right-angle geometry keeps stub lengths within the limits used for high-speed fieldbus layouts.
