Beckhoff manufactures the ZK7314-3031-C030, a pre-assembled motor cable in the ZK Motor Cables series. The assembly carries both DC auxiliary power and high-frequency communication so that servo drives and distributed I/O stations can be linked through a single M23 interface. It is intended for EtherCAT P installations where power lines and fieldbus data share the same jacket, which helps reduce cable routing complexity in industrial automation cells. This arrangement also helps keep connected devices organized when power and communication must travel along the same cable path.
The cable is supplied in a fixed length of 3.0 m, making it suitable for short runs inside control cabinets or between adjacent machines. Its data conductors are coded for EtherCAT-P and terminate on four signal pins, so the male connector carries 4 EtherCAT P contacts that follow the Cat.5 transmission class. Continuous signal quality is supported by a copper braid and foil that provide 360° shielding around the twisted pairs, which helps limit interference in mixed-power environments. Mechanical retention is achieved with a bayonet fitting, allowing tool-free locking during installation and removal. Separate 0.34 mm² conductors handle real-time data, while larger cores carry drive voltage up to 630 V AC or 850 V DC without exceeding phase-to-phase limits.
Each conductor for the motor windings uses a cross-section of 4 mm², supporting continuous load currents up to 29 A at 40 °C. Combined with five power contacts in a 4 + PE arrangement and the assignment of two 24 V DC lines plus protective earth, the assembly can supply brakes, sensors, and logic alongside the main phase power. The molded M23 housing meets IP65/IP67, so dust ingress and temporary water immersion do not interfere with normal operation. Installation size B23 and mechanical coding 1 help prevent mismating with adjacent connectors and maintain pin compatibility across matching Beckhoff connections.
