Product Description:
The ZK7314-3031-C010 is a hybrid motor and communication cable produced by Beckhoff within the ZK Motor Cables series. It provides simultaneous power delivery and EtherCAT P signal transmission between a drive controller and a field-mounted servomotor or I/O box. By integrating energy and data cores in a single jacket, the assembly reduces the connector count, simplifies cable routing, and maintains deterministic fieldbus performance in industrial automation equipment. This combined arrangement also reduces the number of separate cable runs required along a machine axis.
The cable terminates in an M12 connector that follows the EtherCAT P standard and carries supply and bus lines through four dedicated EtherCAT P pins. Two additional cores are molded as power contacts, and the cable provides four power conductors plus protective earth for three-phase loads. Data transmission uses finely stranded pairs with a cross-sectional area of 0.34 mm² (AWG 22), limiting impedance and supporting high-frequency signaling over typical machine lengths. Separate copper conductors with cross-sectional areas of up to 4 mm² carry the 24 V auxiliary supply and motor phase current. Their larger cross-sectional area helps minimize voltage drop during transient acceleration demands.
The cable supports a maximum operating voltage of 630 V AC or 850 V DC and a continuous conductor current of 29 A at 40 °C. The molded connectors and polyurethane sheath provide IP65 and IP67 protection, allowing direct routing across moving axes or through washdown zones without additional conduit. Its compact B23 installation size allows the assembly to fit within confined carrier chains. Mechanical coding for two 24 V DC circuits and protective earth helps prevent incorrect mating with standard M12 power connections. The flexible jacket supports routing in automation equipment where low-voltage control lines and medium-voltage motor power must share a single cable path.
