Product Description:
The ZK7208-AW00-A030 is a preassembled motor cable produced by Beckhoff within the ZK Motor Cables series. Designed for EtherCAT P servo axes, the cable combines power conductors, control pairs, and protective earth in a single jacket so that machine builders can route one line from the drive cabinet to the moving actuator. In automated lines, the assembly minimizes wiring effort, maintains consistent electrical characteristics, and ensures that both supply current and fieldbus signals reach the motor without separate harnesses.
Internally, the wiring matches the A-coded B17 circular connector used on Beckhoff servomotors. Power conductors with a 1.5 mm² cross-sectional area handle the main phase lines, while the insulation system is rated for up to 630 V AC/850 V DC between contacts. At ambient temperatures up to 40 °C, the copper can carry up to 16 A, providing ample capacity for medium-torque motors during acceleration. A separate shielded pair with a 0.34 mm² (AWG22) cross-sectional area transports encoder data and EtherCAT P signals. The internal mapping includes two 24 V DC auxiliary lines plus protective earth. A mechanical coding value of 1 prevents connection to incompatible plugs.
The molded connector has an installation size of B17, so it mates directly with matching inline or panel receptacles on AX and AM series hardware without additional adapters. Inside the interface, the EtherCAT P segment uses 4 dedicated signal pins, while the power stage terminates on 4 power contacts plus 1 protective earth contact, keeping protective earth separate from the data lines. The connector has an IP65/IP67 enclosure rating; its strain-relieved overmold blocks dust, low-pressure water jets, and temporary immersion, which helps preserve impedance balance when the cable is installed on gantries or articulated carriers in washdown areas. The preassigned keyway simplifies blind-mate insertion when access to the connection point is limited.
