Product Description:
The ZK7208-3031-A050 is a motor cable manufactured by Beckhoff for use in the ZK Motor Cables series. It combines power conductors, signal pairs, and a prewired protective ground so that one assembly can connect a servo drive to its rotary motor in an industrial automation cell. The cable matches Beckhoff drive pinouts, reduces the number of separate connections required between the cabinet and machine, and supports electromagnetic compatibility between the inverter and connected motor.
With a fixed length of 5.00 m, the assembly can span typical cabinet-to-machine distances without requiring additional junctions. Its connector housing has a B17 installation size, and the power interface provides 4 + PE (5) contacts for transmitting phase current and establishing the protective ground connection. The power conductors support up to 630 V AC/850 V DC and carry a continuous current of 16 A at 40 °C. Mechanical coding 1 guides the keyed plug into the correct mating position and helps prevent connection errors. The pre-leading PE contact engages before the power contacts during insertion, providing a protective ground path before the remaining electrical connections are completed. Inside the housing, four separate data contacts accommodate encoder or temperature signals, while the auxiliary circuit provides two 24 V DC supplies with a dedicated protective ground path.
The molded connector enclosure has an IP65/IP67 rating, protecting the contacts against dust, low-pressure water jets, and temporary immersion under the applicable installation conditions. Each copper phase core has a maximum cross-sectional area of 1.5 mm², providing the conductor capacity needed for the rated current while limiting resistive voltage loss along the cable. The feedback conductors have a maximum cross-sectional area of 0.34 mm² (AWG22), making them suitable for common differential signal channels. Separation between the data paths and motor power conductors helps reduce electrical interference that could affect encoder or temperature feedback. The combined conductor arrangement also allows motor power, auxiliary supply, protective grounding, and control signals to pass through one preassembled cable rather than through multiple independently routed assemblies.
