Product Description:
The ZK4704-0421-2150 motor cable is produced by Beckhoff within the ZK Motor Cables series. It is a pre-assembled hybrid lead that routes three-phase power and control signals between a servo drive and its motor, streamlining installation in industrial automation cells. Using this dedicated cable reduces on-site wiring time, ensures connector compatibility, and maintains signal integrity for accurate positioning tasks. Designed for moving machine axes, the assembly also supports drag-chain operation without supplemental armoring.
The cable ships in a 15.00 m fixed length, allowing controller cabinets to be placed at a practical distance from moving axes without intermediate junctions. Its outer sheath is made of PUR (Polyurethane), a material selected for resistance to oils, coolants, and continuous flexing. An ingress rating of IP66/67 keeps the internal conductors dry during washdown or dusty operation. For power transmission, the circular connector carries 3+PE contacts, and each conductor has a cross-section of 0.75 mm² so that low- to medium-power servo currents can be handled without overheating. Five signal pins with a gauge of AWG22 are provided for encoder or brake feedback. These cores are crimp-terminated, and the connector uses a bayonet lock for tool-free coupling while still meeting 500 mating-cycle endurance. A minimum fixed-installation bend radius of five times the outer diameter protects the braid from kinking during cabinet routing.
For dynamic tracks, the assembly supports motion up to 4 m/s and a horizontal travel of 20 m, which suits long-stroke gantries and loading portals. The conductor and jacket design are qualified for 5 million flex cycles, permitting multishift duty in e-chains. Operation is specified up to 2000 m above sea level, so altitude does not limit deployment in most facilities. This arrangement supports repeated travel in automated equipment where the cable moves continuously with the axis.
