The ZK4704-0421-2100 motor cable is produced by Beckhoff within the ZK Motor Cables series. It serves as the movable connection between an AX servo drive and its matching motor, transmitting three-phase power, protective earth, and auxiliary control lines through a single bundled assembly. By supplying a factory-terminated harness for dynamic energy-chain service, Beckhoff simplifies installation in gantries, packaging machines, and other automated equipment. Using one preassembled cable also reduces routing complexity around moving axes where space is limited.
Electrically, the cable carries phase power on three cores plus a protective earth, while a five-pole signal bundle handles encoder or brake lines in a 3+PE/5 layout. The copper power conductors use 0.75 mm² conductors, and the signal cores use AWG22 to balance flexibility and current capacity. A PUR outer jacket resists oil and abrasion, and an internal FKM seal supports fluid-tight mating at the connector. On the drive side, the assembly tolerates an impulse voltage of 6.0 kV, is rated for continuous operation at 300 V AC, and can carry up to 14 A on the power cores with a maximum system rating of 630 V AC/DC. The cable has an overall diameter of 11.0 mm, and the conductors are terminated with crimped contacts to help maintain low contact resistance.
Mechanically, the assembly is supplied in a length of 10.00 m and is intended for continuous chain applications that demand up to 5 million bending cycles at a travel speed of 4 m/s. The PUR jacket and molded connector interface achieve IP66/67 protection, blocking dust ingress and high-pressure water during washdown. Despite the sealed design, the cable remains suitable for tight routing in energy guides because of its compact profile. Rated mating life is 500 insertion cycles, and the combination of crimp contacts and FKM sealing elements helps maintain conductivity and strain relief after repeated plug-in operations. This arrangement supports repeated motion without placing unnecessary stress on the connector entry.
