Product Description:
The ZK4704-0421-2020 cable is manufactured by Beckhoff as part of the ZK Motor Cables series. It is a hybrid assembly that routes three power conductors, one protective earth, and five separate signal lines between a servo drive and its motor. Because power and control circuits share one jacket, routing between the drive and motor stays more organized in moving cable paths. In automated cells, this layout eliminates parallel wiring runs, conserves cabinet space, and reduces electromagnetic coupling, making the product suitable for coordinated multi-axis gantries, pick-and-place heads, and related machinery.
With a length of 2.00 m, the cable suits short controller-to-motor spans inside compact enclosures. The interface is secured by a Bayonet locking sleeve that can withstand 500 mating cycles without thread wear. Internally, the power cores have a cross-section of 0.75 mm² and can carry up to 14 A at continuous duty, while momentary surges are limited by a 6.0 kV impulse withstand rating. For standard operation, the insulation supports 630 V AC/DC line voltage, and the shielding helps keep conducted noise away from the five signal contacts. When the coupling nut is fully tightened, the assembly has a protection rating of IP66/67 (Screwed), which protects the conductors against dust and high-pressure water during washdown maintenance.
The dynamic design allows a maximum travel of 5 million carrier cycles at a track velocity of 4 m/s, supporting long service life in high-duty conveyors. Signal conductors sized at AWG22 deliver control feedback currents up to 3.6 A, and the insulation resists transients to 1.5 kV while operating at a nominal 63 V AC/DC. Mechanical attachment of both power and signal contacts is achieved through a Crimp Connection, which minimizes contact resistance over the rated temperature and vibration range. This arrangement supports applications where motor power and feedback must travel through the same flexible cable during repeated motion.
