Product Description:
The ZK4704-0401-2100 is a preassembled motor supply and feedback cable produced by Beckhoff within the ZK Motor Cables series. It links a servo drive to a motor in industrial automation cells, carrying three-phase power, brake control, and encoder signals in a single jacket so that wiring inside a control cabinet and along the machine frame remains organized. By combining these functions in one assembly, the cable reduces separate cable runs and supports cleaner routing on moving axes.
The cable is delivered in a fixed length of 10.00 m, which allows routing without splicing. Rated insulation supports an overall operating voltage of 300 V AC, while the dedicated power pins can withstand up to 630 V AC/DC at 14 A. Each power core has a 0.75 mm² cross-section, a dielectric strength of 3 kV, and a maximum resistance of ≤ 28.0 Ω/km, providing low-loss transmission to the motor. Brake leads are smaller at 0.25 mm² because they energize the holding brake only during stops. Contact resistance remains below 5 mΩ, and insulation resistance is at least 200 MΩ·km to minimize leakage. The assembly tolerates continuous motion because its minimum bending radius is 5 x outer cable diameter, so drag-chain operation does not damage the cores.
Signal pairs use a 0.14 mm² cross-section and are limited to 63 V AC/DC at 3.6 A, matching typical encoder supplies and digital I/O loads. A tinned copper braid with ≥ 85% optical coverage suppresses electromagnetic interference between fast-switching inverters and feedback circuits. The molded M23 connectors employ an IP-rated housing that achieves IP66/67 once mated, blocking dust ingress and water jets encountered on machine tools or packaging lines. This shielding and sealing help preserve signal quality when power and feedback conductors share the same cable.
