Product Description:
The ZK4701-0421-2020 is a pre-assembled motor cable produced by Beckhoff within the ZK Motor Cables series. It links a servo drive to its matching motor, carrying phase power, brake power, and encoder signals in one routed line to simplify installation in automated machinery. The cable’s molded connectors, designed around M23 pin layouts, fit the motor ports used throughout Beckhoff AX and AM product ranges and support continuous operation in moving-axis cable chains on gantries, pick-and-place heads, and packaging stations.
This model is supplied in a fixed length of 2.00 m. That length is short enough for compact cabinets and long enough for standard linear axes without excess slack. A tough PUR outer jacket shields the cores from lubricants, weld spatter, and UV exposure while supporting continuous flex applications. Inside, the power cores use a cross-section of 0.75 mm², balancing ampacity with bending radius for motors up to 400 W. Phase conductors are approved for up to 630 V AC/DC, allowing the same assembly to serve both low-voltage DC drives and high-voltage AC inverters. When mated, the over-molded coupling and sealing ring provide IP66/67 protection, helping block dust ingress and high-pressure water jets in washdown areas.
For dynamic service, the cable endures up to 5 million flex cycles at chain speeds of 4 m/s, supported by a copper lay designed for reverse bending. A maximum tensile loading of 20 N/mm² resists pull forces during installation and motion. Transient overvoltages from drive IGBTs are handled by a phase-to-shield insulation level of 6.0 kV, while the signal pair tolerates switching surges up to 63 V AC/DC without crosstalk into feedback channels. Gold-plated brass contacts limit connector resistance through 500 mating operations, and the separate 0.34 mm² brake pair carries 1 A for holding-brake release without influencing encoder fidelity.
