Product Description:
The ZK4530-0010-0180 is a pre-assembled motor cable manufactured by Beckhoff for the ZK Motor Cables series. By merging power and encoder lines inside one shielded jacket, the cable shortens installation time between AX servo drives and their companion motors in automated machining centers, pick-and-place modules, and material-handling cells. A molded M23 connector on the motor side mates with a D-sub housing at the controller, and both ends are available in straight or angled forms to suit tight control cabinets. This combined layout reduces the number of separate cable runs between the drive and motor and helps keep cable paths less crowded.
This model is supplied in a length of 18.00 m, allowing drive components to be mounted at a distance without extra junctions. Its conductor layout of 4 x 2 x 0.25 mm² provides four twisted signal pairs for differential transmission, while three larger cores carry the 24 V supply at up to 7 A. Using twisted signal pairs helps reduce the effect of electrical noise on encoder communication when the cable is routed near energized conductors. The outer PUR sheath measures 7.5 mm in diameter, so drag-chain guides can be sized accurately in cable carriers and fixed routes. Electrical continuity is maintained through a contact resistance below 5 mΩ. The UL operating voltage rating is 300 V AC, and the signal cores are designed for 160 V AC/DC. Pin layouts follow 12-pin motor and 15-pin drive assignments, while overall wire resistance is kept to 76 Ω/km or less for stable voltage delivery over the full cable run.
The cable withstands up to 5 million flex cycles for continuous-motion use and accepts 500 manual mating cycles before connector wear becomes critical. Insulation resistance remains at least 500 MΩ, limiting leakage when the assembly is routed near grounded machine frames. Surge robustness is rated at 2.5 kV, and factory hipot testing at 1500 V verifies dielectric integrity. The mating-cycle limit applies to repeated connector handling, where reconnection can gradually wear the contact surfaces over time.
