Product Description:
The ZK4530-0010-0120 is a flexible motor cable produced by Beckhoff as part of the ZK Motor Cables series. It links a servo drive with its associated motor and encoder, combining three-phase power, feedback, and brake conductors inside one movable sheath. In automated lines, this assembly simplifies panel wiring, preserves signal quality during constant motion, and fits inside drag-chain carriers that guide axes over multiple meters. The design supports compact routing between cabinets and multi-axis gantries.
Internally, the cable contains 4 x 2 x 0.25 mm² twisted pairs that keep feedback lines separate from drive power. It is supplied as a factory-terminated length of 12.0 m, avoiding splice points on the machine. The motor-side connector uses an M23 shell with 12 contacts, and the cable carries a continuous phase current of 7 A at up to 160 V AC/DC. Dielectric strength is verified by a 2.5 kV impulse test and a production proof voltage of 1500 V. Connector A is rated for 500 mating cycles, while the controller end uses a 15-pin D-Sub plug with the same signal order. These separate contact groups help reduce crosstalk and maintain controlled impedance throughout the cable run.
For dynamic operation in an energy chain, the jacket withstands accelerations of 20 m/s², carrier speeds of 3 m/s, and strokes up to 5 m, supporting a mechanical life of 5,000,000 cycles. The polyurethane sheath measures 7.5 mm in diameter, allowing tight bend radii and high cable density in routing channels. The 12-pin M23 and 15-pin D-Sub shells remain dimensionally stable across this motion range, while overall shielding helps keep encoder signals resistant to conducted noise. The cable is suitable for pick-and-place modules, packaging lines, and compact machine tools where continuous flexing and compact routing are required.
