The ZK4520-0020-0100 cable is manufactured by Beckhoff for the ZK Motor Cables series. It serves as the predefined link between a servo motor and its drive controller, carrying power conductors, brake lines, and encoder signals so that motion axes in automated machinery can be connected quickly and with consistent pinouts. One end terminates in a 17-pin M23 female plug for the motor side, while the opposite end uses a 15-pin D-sub male plug for the control cabinet. This arrangement eliminates field crimping and helps maintain electromagnetic shielding along long machine runs.
The assembly length is 10 m, giving the cable enough reach for routing through cable chains on medium-sized gantries without intermediate junctions. The connector geometry is straight to angled; the M23 end is straight for the motor housing, and the D-sub end is angled for cabinet bulkheads where depth is limited. At the motor end, the metal shell and gasket provide an IP66/67 seal that helps protect the contacts from dust and high-pressure water during washdown. The electrical conductors are rated for a maximum system voltage of 125 V AC/DC and can continuously carry up to 7 A, matching the demand of medium-frame Beckhoff servo motors and their brake coils without overheating.
