Product Description:
The ZK4511-0000/020-0250 is a pre-assembled motor cable produced by Beckhoff within the ZK Motor Cables series. It is intended to carry both power and feedback signals between Beckhoff servo drives and matched motors. This supports quick installation and consistent electrical performance in distributed automation cabinets and on-machine routing.
The conductor bundle is arranged as 7 x 2 x 0.14 mm² + 2 x 0.5 mm², giving fourteen fine-gauge signal pairs and two larger power cores to separate encoder data from supply lines. A factory-terminated length of 25.00 m supports long runs on gantries or conveyor systems without additional junctions. Inside each molded end, a 17-pin coding scheme matches Beckhoff M23 pinouts, and the mating hardware is specified as an M23 straight plug/female on one side and an M23 socket/male on the other. Environmental sealing with threaded backshells brings the connection to IP66/67 when tightened, preventing dust ingress and high-pressure water during washdowns. Electromagnetic coupling is reduced by a tinned-copper braid with at least 85% optical shield coverage, improving signal integrity beside switching devices and motor busbars.
The cable carries motor phase currents up to 7 A while maintaining a continuous operating rating of 125 V AC/DC between conductors and shield. Electrical overstress is handled by a surge withstand of 2.0 kV, with routine quality tests at 1000 V wire-to-wire and 800 V wire-to-screen. The PVC jacket remains flexible from -40…+80 °C, so motion axes can cycle in cold storage zones or near machinery heat sources. Additional characteristics include a 30 V sensor pair inside the bundle, contact resistance below 5 mΩ, insulation resistance of at least 20 MΩ·km, a 7.6 mm ± 0.3 mm outer diameter for standard drag-chain clamps, and crimped terminations that provide stable low-ohm joins throughout dynamic service life.
