Product Description:
Beckhoff created the ZK4510-0000-0080 as a pre-assembled cable in the ZK Motor Cables series. This hybrid cable is intended to connect a servomotor to its drive amplifier in automated machinery, combining power conductors and signal pairs in one jacket to simplify cabinet wiring. By carrying low-voltage supply and encoder feedback in a single run, the product supports synchronous motion control while reducing the number of separate cable routes inside the machine.
The cable is supplied in a length of 8 m, allowing controller panels to be located farther from moving axes without additional junctions. On the motor side, it terminates in a M23 plug, female, 17-pin, while the drive side uses a 15-pin male D-sub socket, so power and feedback circuits are secured through keyed connectors. Power cores are rated for a maximum terminal voltage of 125 V AC/DC and continuous current up to 7 A. A braided shield surrounds the bundle with ≥ 85% coverage to help limit interference into adjacent signal lines. The conductor arrangement of 7 × 2 × 0.14 mm² plus 2 × 0.5 mm² supports differential encoder channels and motor temperature sensing. Contact resistance at head A remains below 5 mΩ, and the insulation resistance is at least 20 MΩ·km to help keep leakage low over longer runs. The nominal operating voltage within the bundle is 30 V, and the outer diameter is 7.6 mm with a tolerance of ±0.3 mm.
For dynamic cable-chain use, the assembly tolerates torsional displacement of ±30 °/m and can flex around a minimum radius of 5 × outer cable diameter without conductor fatigue. The molded interfaces are rated for 500 mating cycles, which supports repeated connection and disconnection during service. Head A withstands transient overvoltages up to 2.0 kV, and its surge path is sized for a static tensile load of 50 N/mm² to resist pull forces during machine movement. The assembly includes both mechanical strain relief and electromagnetic shielding for continuous-motion installations.
