Product Description:
The ZK4501-8022-0020 is a flexible motor cable manufactured by Beckhoff for the ZK Motor Cables series. It combines power leads, brake wires, and signal pairs inside a polyurethane jacket so that one assembly can connect a servo drive to its motor and holding brake in automated machines. The cable is intended for use in cable tracks and pick-and-place gantries where repeated motion requires consistent electrical performance and abrasion resistance.
This model is supplied in a factory-terminated length of 2.00 m, allowing short patch runs without excess slack. The power cores support up to 630 V AC/DC and can carry 14 A continuously through a copper cross-section of 1.00 mm². These values suit medium-frame servomotors driven from standard Beckhoff AX series inverters. For protection against voltage spikes produced by switching devices, the insulation has a surge withstand rating of 6.0 kV. Three power conductors and a dedicated PE ground share the same bundle, while a separate brake pair is included for the motor brake. The cable uses five signal contacts in a Power 3+PE, Signal 5 arrangement, and encoder feedback is carried through AWG22 cores. A molded TPU jacket resists oil and welding splatter, and crimp connections on both ends help maintain low contact resistance across the rated mating cycles.
The control cores are limited to 63 V AC/DC and can supply up to 3.6 A for sensors or brake release, with differential pairs tested for transients of 1.5 kV. Over its service life, the cable tolerates up to 5 million flex cycles at a travel speed of 4 m/s, making it suitable for high-duty dynamic chains. Signal conductors use a crimped, vibration-resistant termination that helps maintain continuity during continuous motion. The brake pair carries release current independently of the main cores, and the TPU outer sheath supports tight bend radii without cracking.
