Product Description:
The ZK4500-8025-0080 motor cable is produced by Beckhoff for the ZK Motor Cables series and is intended to connect servo drives to synchronous motors in automated machinery. The assembly combines power, brake, signal, and EtherCAT data conductors in one jacket so control cabinets can be wired quickly and maintenance time is reduced. Its molded Head A connector with Speedtec locking attaches directly to AX or AM series motors, supplying phase current, encoder feedback, and brake voltage without separate harnesses.
At a fixed length of 8.00 m, the cable can span typical motor-to-drive distances inside medium-sized gantries while limiting voltage drop. The four power cores each use a 4.00 mm² conductor and are rated for continuous currents up to 70 A, which match the torque requirements of Beckhoff AM8000 motors. Corresponding line insulation supports composite potentials of 630 V AC / 850 V DC, so the assembly remains within the 600 V class of most drive controllers. A minimum bend radius of 111 mm prevents copper fatigue during routing through cable chains. The molded M40 plug carries a 4+PE power layout, four control cores, and a duplex EtherCAT pair; the housing accepts 500 mating cycles and locks with the Speedtec bayonet. Overall mass is 420 kg/km, which influences cable carrier loading.
The integrated brake pair uses 1.00 mm² copper to carry the 24 V holding circuit. Each signal conductor is sized at AWG22 for encoder and temperature channels that draw only 7 A at 150 V AC/DC. Beckhoff certifies the PUR jacket for chain operation up to 5 Million flex cycles, so dynamic axes can move continuously without insulation cracks. Electrical integrity over the complete cable is verified for a system potential of 600/1000 V, aligning with the Uo/U designation for low-voltage power distribution on factory floors.
