The ZK4500-8024-0100 motor cable is produced by Beckhoff within the ZK Motor Cables series. Intended for servo-axis wiring in automated production lines, the cable carries drive power, brake control, and encoder signals between a motion controller and the motor. Its composite design supports continuous movement in cable carriers while also tolerating static runs inside control panels. By combining multiple functions inside one engineered assembly, the product shortens installation time, saves cabinet space, and maintains uniform electrical characteristics across distributed axes.
The four-core power bundle offers a cross-section of 2.50 mm², enabling currents typical for medium-frame synchronous motors while limiting conductor loss to ≤7.98 Ω/km. A dedicated brake pair is sized at 1.00 mm² to energize holding brakes without voltage drop. Digital feedback conductors follow the finer AWG22 geometry for low-level signals. The entire assembly is rated for 1000 V AC, and insulation coordination allows a withstand voltage of 4 kV between cores and shield. Bare copper conductors maximize conductivity, polypropylene insulation supplies thermal stability, and a thermoplastic polyurethane jacket resists oil and abrasion encountered in machine tools and packaging lines.
Supplied in a factory-terminated length of 10.00 m, the cable is dimensioned for installation in medium-sized gantries or transfer stations. In dynamic drag-chain service it survives up to 5 million bending cycles at speeds to 4 m/s, provided the routing observes the minimum dynamic loop of 7 x OD; stationary runs may tighten to 5 x OD. Electrical integrity is supported by an insulation resistance of ≥500 MΩ·km and by a tinned-copper braid that delivers ≥85% optical coverage against electromagnetic interference. These mechanical and shielding properties help maintain position accuracy when the cable tracks repeatedly through high-speed production strokes.
