Product Description:
Beckhoff supplies the ZK4500-8023-0060 cable assembly within the ZK Motor Cables series. This flexible lead combines power, brake, and feedback conductors in a single jacket to link AM series servo motors to their matching EtherCAT drives in automated machinery. By providing pre-terminated connectors and matched wire gauges, the product supports orderly routing and maintains signal integrity across moving axes installed in drag chains. Its Head A end uses an M23 circular connector with segregated power (3+PE) and five-wire signal groups for clear connection layout.
The power cores are sized at 1.50 mm², supporting continuous motor currents without excessive voltage drop, while a separate brake pair of 0.75 mm² conducts the release current for spring-applied holding brakes. Digital encoder lines are built from AWG22 twisted pairs to keep differential signals within impedance tolerances. With an overall length of 6.00 m, the assembly reaches from cabinet to actuator in typical gantry or palletizer layouts while remaining within the maximum channel resistance allowed by the drive. Its conductor insulation and sheath are rated for 1000 V AC, giving suitable clearance for high-power axes that share common raceways with mains wiring. Each core uses PP insulation, and the cable is protected by a halogen-free TPU jacket that resists abrasion.
The mechanical design supports dynamic routing. A nominal outer cable diameter of 12.7 mm fits standard carriers and grommets, and the structure withstands up to 5 million flex cycles in drag-chain service. The chain travel speed can reach 4 m/s without conductor fatigue, provided the bend radius in motion stays above 7 × outer diameter. For stationary clips, the permitted minimum bend radius is 5 × the outer diameter. Head B terminates in a 4-pin power plug, while the dedicated Head D 5-pin connector carries encoder and sensor channels. This pin segregation reduces electromagnetic interference, and the cable materials resist abrasion and common cutting fluids found on automated lines.
