Product Description:
The ZK4500-8023-0030 is a motor power and feedback cable manufactured by Beckhoff for the ZK Motor Cables series. It is intended for servo axes, where it delivers three-phase drive energy, supplies the holding brake, and returns encoder signals to the controller through one composite assembly. By combining these functions, the cable minimizes cabinet penetration points and supports orderly routing in moving-axis installations used in packaging, material-handling, or pick-and-place equipment. Using one composite cable also helps keep cable management simpler on axes that move repeatedly during normal machine operation.
The assembly is supplied in a length of 3.00 m, allowing short point-to-point runs between the motor and drive. Mechanical durability is confirmed by a service life of 5 million bending cycles, so it can withstand continuous chain or robot motion. Each power conductor has a cross-section of 1.50 mm², which is large enough for currents up to 30 A at a rated line voltage of 630 V AC/DC. The outer jacket and insulation system are suitable for 600/1000 V operating environments, with a dielectric strength of 4 kV and an impulse withstand of 6.0 kV to tolerate switching spikes. An M23 connector is preinstalled, and its contact layout provides three phase pins plus PE for power and five pins for the encoder channel, so no field wiring is necessary. This arrangement also helps maintain consistent shielding and pin assignment across the complete cable assembly.
The brake circuit is presented on a 4-pin insert that carries 0.75 mm² conductors sized for the brake coil. Position feedback returns through a dedicated 5-pin insert that uses AWG22 signal pairs, supporting up to 7 A and a maximum differential voltage of 250 V AC/DC. Dynamic applications are accommodated by a permitted cable velocity of 4 m/s, which supports reliable motion on fast gantry axes. The separate inserts for brake and feedback circuits help organize the connector layout and keep low-level signal paths distinct from the power contacts.
