The ZK4500-8022-0200 motor cable is manufactured by Beckhoff within the ZK Motor Cables series. It links a servo drive to its motor across moving machine elements, carrying power, brake control, and feedback conductors in a single flexible assembly. The design is intended for installation in drag chains so automated packaging, pick-and-place, and material-handling cells can maintain dependable energy and signal transmission throughout continuous reciprocating motion. It supports axes that must accelerate, decelerate, and hold position with precision.
With a factory-terminated length of 20.00 m, the cable can span the full stroke of many horizontal gantries without intermediate connectors. Three power cores sized at 1.00 mm² supply the phase current, while a dedicated brake pair of 0.75 mm² supports rapid engagement of the motor holding brake. Encoder and sensor lines are built on twisted pairs rated at AWG22 to keep differential signaling stable over the entire run. Head A is molded to achieve IP66/67 ingress protection, so the assembly can be attached directly to motors exposed to coolant splash or dust. Bare-copper conductors carry the electrical load, while PP insulation and the orange TPU jacket add mechanical and chemical resilience.
Dynamic ratings allow the jacket to flex to 30 m/s² acceleration and linear speeds of 4 m/s over horizontal travels up to 20 m while staying within the drag-chain operating range. Service life is specified at 5 million double strokes, provided the bend radii are respected: 5 times the cable diameter for fixed routing and 7 times the cable diameter when in motion. The crimped M23 interface on Head A withstands 500 mating cycles before contact plating wear becomes critical.
