Product Description:
The ZK4500-8022-0190 is a flexible motor power and brake cable manufactured by Beckhoff as part of its ZK Motor Cables series. The assembly routes drive output to servo motors in automated production cells, delivering three-phase power while carrying a dedicated brake pair so moving axes can be stopped quickly when required. By combining supply and control cores inside one polyurethane sheath, the cable simplifies wiring runs in handling systems, packaging machines, and other motion-controlled equipment.
This model is supplied in a factory-terminated length of 19.00 m, enough to span medium gantry or robot installations without splicing. Power conductors use a cross-section of 1.00 mm², enabling continuous transmission at an operating potential of 1000 V AC. Copper resistance is limited to ≤ 19.5 Ω/km, so voltage drop remains low over the full reel. When surge events occur, the insulation system withstands up to 4 kV between cores and the shield. A tinned-copper braid with 90 pF/m mutual capacitance surrounds the power bundle, limiting common-mode noise, and the overall weight is 215 kg/km, which eases cable-track loading. Tensile forces up to 20 N/mm² can be tolerated during dynamic travel, and the outer TPU jacket maintains ≥ 500 MΩ·km insulation resistance in oily or cool-room conditions.
The brake pair is dimensioned at 0.75 mm², allowing reliable coil energization even during rapid deceleration cycles. Electromagnetic shielding covers ≥ 85 % of the circumference to reduce brake control interference. Chain applications are supported for up to 5 million bending cycles at speeds to 4 m/s over straight runs as long as 20 m. Cable carriers may articulate safely because the design permits movement down to a minimum bend radius of 7 × outer diameter. This arrangement supports repeated motion in automated axes without requiring a separate brake cable.
