Product Description:
The ZK4500-8022-0180 is a continuous-flex motor supply cable produced by Beckhoff for the ZK Motor Cables series. It is designed to link AX and AMP servo amplifiers to synchronous motors in automated machinery, carrying three-phase power alongside brake and feedback lines in a single jacket. The cable is intended for cable-carrier chains and moving machine parts, ensuring reliable energy transmission while machines accelerate, decelerate, and change direction during repetitive production cycles. By combining multiple circuits in one jacket, it reduces the number of separate cable runs on moving axes.
With a length of 18.00 m, the assembly arrives pre-terminated and is suitable for drag-chain routing. The polyurethane jacket has an outer diameter of 11.6 mm and encloses bare copper conductors arranged as 4 x 1 mm² power, 2 x 0.75 mm² brake, and 2 x AWG22 sensor pairs. The 1 mm² power conductors support up to 1000 V AC motor voltage, and the cable mass of 215 kg/km helps limit chain loading. A tensile-proof braid and TPU sheath withstand acceleration peaks of 30 m/s² and support continuous movement in carrier systems. The cable is rated for 5,000,000 flex cycles at the required bend radius. Bare copper strands, rather than tinned alternatives, help minimize conductor resistance and improve heat dissipation under sustained current.
For energy-chain installations, the cable supports linear speeds up to 4 m/s, horizontal strokes up to 20 m, and vertical strokes up to 5 m without excess sag. During motion, the copper bundle tolerates dynamic tensile stress of 20 N/mm², and when clamped in a stationary position it can handle up to 50 N/mm². An 81 mm minimum bend radius applies while the chain is moving, which helps prevent conductor corkscrewing. The low-friction sheath works with the cable's core geometry to keep temperature rise moderate even at full duty.
