The ZK4500-8022-0100 is a motor connection cable manufactured by Beckhoff within the ZK Motor Cables series. Intended for drag-chain installations in factory automation, it routes three-phase power, brake control, and feedback signals between a drive amplifier and its associated servo motor. Using a single cable for these functions helps keep moving axis layouts compact and reduces the number of separate runs along the machine. The cable maintains signal integrity during constant motion, enabling precise positioning on pick-and-place modules, gantry axes, and packaging lines. Finely stranded conductors and an abrasion-resistant outer jacket help it endure high mechanical stress without compromising electrical performance.
The assembly is supplied in a length of 10.00 m, allowing direct runs from cabinet to motor without intermediate junctions. Each power core is sized at 1.00 mm² to carry phase current, while the brake pair uses 0.75 mm² to energize the motor’s holding brake. Feedback signals travel over twisted pairs sized at AWG22. This conductor arrangement combines motor power, brake supply, and feedback circuits in one flexible assembly. All conductors are bare copper for low resistance and are insulated with polypropylene, then covered with a thermoplastic polyurethane jacket that resists oils and weld slag. A tinned-copper braid with 85% coverage limits electromagnetic interference, which is important for encoder signals in multi-axis machines. The overall mass is specified at 215 kg/km, a value used when calculating carrier fill and moving load. The cable also uses a shielded drag-chain structure for continuous-motion applications such as palletizers, delta robots, and linear transfer stations.
