Product Description:
The ZK4500-8022-0010 is a flexible motor supply cable manufactured by Beckhoff and assigned to the ZK Motor Cables series. In multi-axis machines, it links a servo motor to the corresponding EtherCAT drive, transmitting three-phase power, brake energy, and feedback signals through a single composite line. Using one prefabricated cable instead of separate runs reduces panel space, simplifies assembly, and keeps electrical parameters within limits expected by the drive.
Its power cores are sized at 1.00 mm², a cross-section that supports current drawn by medium-frame servomotors while limiting voltage drop. Separate brake conductors are provided at 0.75 mm², which is suitable for the lower intermittent current used by holding brakes. The overall cable diameter is 11.6 mm, giving enough space for shielding and insulation while still allowing installation through narrow energy-chain slots. A tinned-copper braid delivers shielding coverage of at least 85%, which reduces electromagnetic emissions and helps maintain encoder signal integrity. For line power, the assembly is rated to 600/1000 V, so it can be connected directly to common 400 VAC three-phase bus supplies. Designed for dynamic motion axes, the cable withstands five million flexing cycles at speeds up to 4 m/s while following a moving bend radius of seven times the outer diameter.
The fixed length of 1.00 m helps with cabinet wiring where excess slack is undesirable. Internal signal pairs use an AWG22 cross-section, balancing low capacitance with sufficient mechanical strength for continuous movement. Mechanical durability is further supported by the polyurethane outer jacket, and the TPU material resists oil, coolants, and abrasion while its orange color allows quick visual identification. Overall mass is limited to 215 kg/km, which helps reduce drag-chain loads. Bare-copper conductors provide high conductivity, polypropylene insulation separates the cores without absorbing moisture, and a fixed bend radius of five times the diameter applies when the cable is installed permanently.
