Product Description:
The ZK4500-8003-0050 is a motor supply and feedback cable produced by Beckhoff within the ZK Motor Cables series. It provides the physical link between an AX5000 or similar drive and a matched servo motor, carrying power conductors, control pairs, and protective earth through a single jacketed run. Designed for automated machinery, the assembly simplifies installation because the factory-molded M23 plug on head A mates directly with the motor housing, eliminating field wiring inside the cabinet.
The cable tolerates up to 1000 V AC maximum, so it can be used on high-bus-voltage drives without exceeding insulation limits. A characteristic impedance of 110 Ω supports low-noise encoder transmission over the installed length. Current paths are organized as 4 × 1.5 mm² + 2 × 0.75 mm² + 2 × AWG22, separating motor phases, auxiliary supply, and twisted signal cores to help control crosstalk. All conductors are made from bare copper, providing stable resistance and good flexibility. During motion, the cable endures a dynamic tensile stress of 20 N/mm² maximum, making it suitable for energy-chain or gantry axes that see repeated displacement.
An insulation resistance of 500 MΩ·km minimum helps protect signal integrity in humid environments, while the overall diameter is limited to 12.2 mm, allowing routing through narrow drag-chain channels. The factory-set length of 5.00 m supports common motor placements without mid-span junctions, and a minimum bending radius of 61 mm helps prevent conductor fatigue during articulation. Additional features include 85% shield coverage for electromagnetic immunity, a PVC outer jacket colored orange for quick identification, and polypropylene wire insulation that withstands repeated thermal cycling. The straight female M23 plug on head A provides 3 power pins plus PE and five signal contacts, and the assembly survives static tensile forces up to 50 N/mm² when fixed in place.
