Product Description:
The ZK4500-0024-0050 is a flexible motor supply and feedback cable manufactured by Beckhoff within the ZK Motor Cables series. Designed for dynamic routing in drag-chain systems, the assembly links a drive amplifier to a servomotor, delivering three-phase power and encoder lines while preserving signal quality across repetitive motion in industrial automation cells. Its construction balances electrical capacity with mechanical durability, making it suitable for gantries, packaging machines, and pick-and-place units where compact routing and high duty cycles are required.
The cable uses bare copper conductors arranged in a core layout of 4 × 2.5 mm² plus two paired signal groups of 1 mm², an arrangement that separates motor phases from encoder lines to reduce crosstalk. The insulation and outer sheath use PUR (polyurethane), a thermoplastic elastomer chosen for oil resistance and flex-fatigue strength. An overall braid provides a minimum of 85% shielding coverage so electromagnetic emissions remain within drive manufacturer limits. Termination is handled through a hybrid plug set with M23 8-pin / 7.62 mm 4-pin / 3.50 mm 5-pin connections, allowing simultaneous connection of power, brake, and feedback channels. The circular bundle has an external diameter of 14.6 mm ± 0.4 mm, a size that fits standard drag-chain dividers without excessive bend stress.
The cable has a specified length of 5 m and a drag-chain acceleration limit of 50 m/s², with a peak cycle speed of 5 m/s and a travel path of up to 50 m for medium-stroke pick-and-place axes. Core stranding and filler elements withstand torsion of ±30° per meter, while the composite jacket tolerates a dynamic tensile load of 20 N/mm² and maintains integrity through 10 million bending cycles. For drive safety, the assembly can carry up to 1000 V AC maximum and withstands a factory test voltage of 4000 V. The dedicated 2.50 mm² power cross-section supports typical 400 V class servo motors without excessive resistive loss.
