Product Description:
The ZK4500-0023-0250 is a pre-assembled motor cable manufactured by Beckhoff for the ZK Motor Cables series. Intended for dynamic routing inside cable carriers, the assembly conveys three-phase power, brake energy, and encoder signals between a Beckhoff servo amplifier and its corresponding motor. Combining all conductors inside one PUR jacket reduces panel space and simplifies installation in packaging lines, handling modules, and other automated equipment where frequent motion requires a flexible yet durable connection.
With a cable length of 25.00 m, the unit spans typical distances between the control cabinet and a moving axis without junction boxes. A conductor layout of 4 × 1.5 mm² for power, two twisted signal pairs, and a brake pair maintains separation of high- and low-level circuits. The assembly is rated for up to 1000 V AC, enabling medium-power motor operation. Its outer diameter of 12.4 mm requires compatible gland sizes, while a fixed installation bend radius of 4 × OD protects the polypropylene insulation from compression. During operation, the cable accommodates travel speeds up to 4 m/s. Each power core offers a cross-section of 1.50 mm², while the signal conductors and the brake pair use 0.75 mm² bare copper strands for low resistance. Polypropylene insulation and a PUR sheath provide resistance to abrasion, oil, and coolant.
Dynamic performance extends to an energy-chain bend radius of 7 × OD, accelerations reaching 30 m/s², and continuous strokes up to 20 m. These motion limits help prevent conductor fatigue and preserve the impedance stability of the control pairs. At 237 kg/km, the cable mass keeps chain pull forces within common carrier limits. Copper conductors remain unplated to minimize voltage drop, and the PUR jacket resists cutting fluids and weld spatter. The dedicated brake pair supports rapid motor deceleration without crosstalk to the signal lines.
