Product Description:
The ZK4500-0023-0200 motor cable is manufactured by Beckhoff as part of the ZK Motor Cables series. Designed for servo power distribution in automated production cells, the assembly links an M23-terminated motor connector to the corresponding drive module and supports stable transmission during repeated flexing. By combining power conductors and shielding in one cable, it reduces the number of separate runs inside energy chains and keeps moving-axis wiring more compact. This format is useful where the motor cable must share a confined carrier with feedback and pneumatic lines. Its PUR sheath and finely stranded conductors allow use in drag-chain installations common to pick-and-place robots and other high-cycle handling systems.
For fixed routing, the cable is supplied in a length of 20 m and uses a PUR outer jacket that resists cutting oils and weld spatter. The conductor bundle weighs 237 kg/km, and power is carried through a 1.50 mm² cross-section rated for up to 1000 V AC. An insulation resistance of 10 MΩ·km helps keep the phases electrically separated in humid conditions. With an outer diameter of 12.4 mm ± 0.3 mm, the cable needs a static bend radius of four times its diameter to avoid compression damage during installation. Beckhoff rates the design for 10 million bending cycles, which suits long-running linear axes and continuously moving gantry systems.
In dynamic applications, the cable can operate at accelerations up to 30 m/s² and linear speeds of 4 m/s, which supports fast transfer motion in pick-and-place axes. During movement, the conductors may be flexed to a minimum bend radius of 7 × outer cable diameter without exceeding copper strain limits. A braided shield with coverage of ≥ 85% helps reduce electromagnetic emission and supports clean electrical performance near switching drives. The M23 8-pin motor connector maintains secure contact under vibration, so the assembly remains suitable for moving servo axes over its full travel distance and through repeated direction changes.
