Product Description:
The ZK4500-0023-0140 is a preassembled motor power and signal cable produced by Beckhoff as part of the ZK Motor Cables series. It connects AX-series servo drives to synchronous motors, carrying power and encoder conductors in one flexible line. The assembly is intended for continuously moving cable chains, and its molded connectors and abrasion-resistant sheath allow quick routing without extra field terminations. Combining power and feedback in one assembly also reduces the number of separate cables that have to move with the axis. This format keeps the motor-side connection factory assembled and avoids separate on-site crimping or pin assignment work. It is suited to axes where both motor current and feedback signals must follow the same moving path.
The cable is supplied in a fixed length of 14.0 m, allowing placement of control cabinets at a distance from the axis they serve. An outer diameter of 12.4 mm keeps the bundle compact while still meeting creepage requirements for its 1000 V AC operating rating. The jacket is made from PUR, which supports oil resistance and low particulate emission inside clean machines. The power conductors use a cross-section of 1.50 mm², and the separate signal pairs terminate in an 8-pin M23 connector on the drive side. On the motor end, the mating receptacle uses the same 8-contact pattern, with a head B pitch of 7.62 mm and a head D pitch of 3.50 mm to match Beckhoff encoder inserts. Allowable dynamic tension reaches 20 N/mm², and static tension can be held up to 50 N/mm² without conductor deformation. Because the power and feedback circuits share one jacket, the cable can simplify harness layout in compact machines. The connector geometry on both ends is arranged for direct mating with compatible motor and drive interfaces.
For motion applications, the cable withstands accelerations up to 30 m/s² and carrier speeds of 4 m/s while operating over a maximum travel distance of 20 m in the drag chain. Reliable flexing is maintained when the minimum bend radius of 87 mm is observed. The internal twisted pairs for feedback occupy a cross-section of 0.75 mm², which helps preserve signal transmission during high-speed cycles. The stated motion limits support repeated travel in applications where the cable is bent and accelerated on every cycle. Observing the bend radius also helps prevent excess stress at the conductors and connector transitions.
