Product Description:
The ZK4500-0023-0080 motor cable is produced by Beckhoff as part of the ZK Motor Cables series. The assembly supplies three-phase power and low-level encoder lines between an AX servo drive and a rotary or linear motor, enabling coordinated motion in industrial automation cells. Its construction is intended for continuous flexing in cable carriers found on pick-and-place, packaging, and machining equipment.
Electrically, the conductor set is rated for 1000 V AC, allowing it to transmit full servo bus voltages without dielectric breakdown during normal operation. The total cable length of 8.00 m is factory finished with over-molded connectors, easing field installation and reducing on-site termination work. A braided and foil composite delivers ≥85% shield coverage to suppress EMI between power and feedback pairs during operation. Polyurethane jacket material adds abrasion resistance, while an insulation resistance of 10 MΩ·km limits leakage along the cable. Power cores use a 1.50 mm² cross-section, and signal pairs use 0.75 mm² conductors. Wire resistance remains at ≤ 13.3 Ω/km, helping keep voltage drop low across the circuit. During rapid motion, the cable tolerates 30 m/s² acceleration, and it can flex around a moving bend radius of 7 × OD, equivalent to 86.8 mm for the 12.4 mm outer diameter. A fixed-installation temperature window of −50 to +80 °C supports cold-room mounting.
The design is rated for 10 million flex cycles in drag-chain service. In motion, it maintains signal integrity at conveyor or gantry speeds up to 4 m/s while accepting torsional offsets of ±30°/m, so the same cable type can be used on linear axes and rotating assemblies. For moving applications, the permitted temperature span of −20 to +80 °C helps prevent embrittlement during startup and excessive heat buildup during continuous duty. It is suited for machine layouts that combine travel, twist, and repeated flexing on the same cable run.
