Product Description:
Beckhoff manufactures the ZK4500-0023-0050 as part of the ZK Motor Cables series. This flexible connection links a servo amplifier to a synchronous motor, carrying both drive power and encoder signals in one routed assembly. Delivered with overmolded terminations, the cable suits drag-chain layouts found in packaging equipment, pick-and-place axes, and other high-cycle automation. Its construction combines finely stranded copper with halogen-free insulation, allowing integration into machines that must meet strict motion, noise, and material requirements without additional cable preparation.
The cable is supplied in a fixed length of 5 m, allowing direct wiring between the control cabinet and a moving axis without field cutting. A PUR jacket provides abrasion resistance while keeping the overall diameter to 12.4 mm, so the assembly fits standard guide channels. Rated for 1000 V AC, the power cores can handle the DC-link voltage used by compatible Beckhoff AX drives. At the motor end, an M23 keyed connector provides quick mating and maintains shielding continuity. The power conductors have a cross-section of 1.50 mm², which provides suitable ampacity for medium-frame motors while preserving flexibility. Polypropylene insulation separates the cores and helps keep capacitance low for clean encoder feedback.
For dynamic motion, the cable withstands accelerations up to 30 m/s² and operating speeds up to 4 m/s over travel lengths of up to 20 m. The chain-rated design endures 10,000,000 bending cycles, making it suitable for repeated motion in multi-shift operation. During movement, the copper cores handle a dynamic tensile stress of 20 N/mm², while stationary pulling permits a higher limit of 50 N/mm². Two twisted signal pairs each have a cross-section of 0.75 mm², supporting encoder or brake lines while helping keep differential impedance balanced throughout the run.
