Product Description:
The ZK4500-0015-0100 is a flexible motor supply cable produced by Beckhoff and belongs to the ZK Motor Cables series. It is intended for servo drive assemblies where continuous motion, cable chains, and torsion require durable power and brake wiring between the controller and the machine axis. By integrating power, brake, and signal conductors into one shielded jacket, the cable simplifies installation inside industrial automation equipment.
With a factory-terminated M40 plug that uses an 8-pin female connector on head A, the cable is delivered in a fixed length of 10.00 m, so cabinet-to-motor spacing is predetermined. The power cores use 4.00 mm² cross-section conductors, while separate brake lines are dimensioned at 1.50 mm²; a discrete 1.00 mm² signal pair carries encoder or sensor reference. All conductors are bare copper for low resistance, and they are wrapped by a braid that provides ≥85% shield coverage against EMI. The cable has a 15.5 mm overall diameter PUR outer jacket with TPU-based TPM insulation on each wire. Dynamic capability is enhanced by a minimum bend radius of 158 mm, a service life of 5 million flex cycles in energy chains, and torsion tolerance of ±30° per meter, permitting both linear tracks and robotic axes to use the same cable.
During operation, the assembly supports travel velocities up to 3 m/s without exceeding internal heating limits. Electrical integrity is maintained up to 4000 V test potential, while continuous-duty circuits may apply as much as 1000 V AC between phase and protective earth. These voltage margins, combined with the stated conductor materials and shielding, help the cable remain stable under inverter switching edges and common-mode noise that accompany modern high-frequency servo drives.
