Product Description:
The ZK4000-5151-0020 motor cable is produced by Beckhoff for the ZK Motor Cables series. Designed as a molded A-coded plug with a 5-pin layout, the assembly presents an M12 mating face that matches Beckhoff and third-party servo drives. Inside the polyurethane sheath, five conductors route both power and sensor lines so a single cable can energize the motor and relay signals, reducing cabinet wiring. In dynamic handling systems or gantries, the product serves as the movable link between the stationary amplifier and the traveling axis. This layout helps simplify routing where a compact moving assembly leaves little room for separate cable runs.
Its interface uses a M12 plug that must be tightened to 0.6 Nm for vibration-resistant contact. The five cores have a cross-section of 5 x 0.25 mm², and each is made from 32 strands of 0.10 mm wire to keep bending forces low. Overall length is 2.00 m, giving enough reach for small robot joints while keeping routing manageable. A PUR outer jacket resists oil and weld spatter and supports continuous cable-chain travel. During motion profiles up to 10 m/s² and carriage velocities of 3 m/s, the cable sustains up to 2 million flex cycles thanks to its fine-strand construction and integral braiding. Full shielding surrounds the core bundle to block conducted and radiated noise, which helps preserve encoder feedback accuracy.
When connected, the sealed coupling attains an ingress protection rating of IP65/67, preventing dust and low-pressure water jets from reaching the conductors during washdown or outdoor service. The five power cores can deliver up to 4 A at 40 °C without exceeding conductor heating limits, which is adequate for small servo axes and holding brakes. System power rails up to 60 V can therefore be routed over the moving chain without additional conduit. The cable is intended for low-voltage motion connections that combine power delivery and signal transmission in one assembly.
