Product Description:
The ZK4000-5100-2150 motor cable is produced by Beckhoff within the ZK Motor Cables series. It is intended to carry power and signal between an axis controller and a servo motor in moving machine sections. By combining electrical supply conductors and feedback lines in a single flexible jacket, the cable simplifies routing and reduces the space needed for cable management while maintaining the dynamic motion capability required in automated handling, packaging, and assembly cells.
The cable has a conductor set of 5 x 0.25 mm² arranged as finely stranded cores, each built from 32 strands of 0.10 mm wire, a construction that helps keep bending stress low during continuous motion. Its total reach is 15.00 m, allowing installation on long gantries or multi-axis carriers without intermediate junctions. One end terminates in a M12 circular connector that follows the A-coded pinout, ensuring compatibility with standard power-out ports on Beckhoff servo drives. The opposite side is left open, giving the builder flexibility to route conductors directly into terminal blocks or custom connectors. A rugged PUR outer sheath keeps the nominal diameter near 5.65 mm while resisting oil and coolant exposure.
During dynamic operation, the cable withstands linear speeds up to 3 m/s and accelerations of 10 m/s² without conductor fatigue. Its service life in drag-chain routing is rated for 2 million bending cycles. Electrical loading can reach 4 A at 40 °C on each power core with system voltages up to 60 V. A braided shield around the core bundle limits EMI coupling, supporting encoder accuracy and drive fault immunity. When the connection is mated, it maintains IP65/IP67 protection, so washdown spray or dust ingress does not compromise insulation. The open-ended termination also supports direct wiring in field enclosures that use application-specific connection hardware.
