Product Description:
The ZK4000-5100-2100 is a motor supply cable produced by Beckhoff as part of the ZK Motor Cables series. It is designed for automated machinery where the cable must move with the axis while maintaining sealed, quick-connect terminations. By combining a compact form factor with sealed connections, the product links motors, sensors, or peripheral modules to control cabinets without additional junction boxes.
The cable length is 10.00 m, giving enough reach for routing through energy chains on medium-sized machines. Its conductors share a cross section of 5 x 0.25 mm², so the power and signal lines can carry the required load while fitting into tight drag-chain bends. The installation geometry matches an M12 interface, and the molded plug on one end follows the A-coded pin pattern for five contacts. With a rated current of 4 A and a rated voltage of 60 V, the assembly suits low-voltage servo or stepper motor circuits. Internally, the conductors are stranded 32 × 0.10 mm to increase flexibility and reduce copper fatigue during reciprocating motion, while the 5-pin arrangement keeps power and feedback channels within a single connector housing.
The cable withstands production environments because its protection class is IP 65/67, excluding dust and high-pressure water during washdowns. A jacket of PUR (polyurethane) resists oil and abrasion, supporting continuous operation up to 2 million flexing cycles at speeds of 3 m/s and accelerations of 10 m/s². Correct seating of the coupling nut is ensured by a recommended tightening torque of 0.6 Nm. Coding is maintained by A-keys that prevent mismating with other M12 variants, and full-coverage braiding provides shielding so that high-frequency inverter noise does not interfere with adjacent sensor lines.
