Product Description:
The ZK4000-5100-2050 motor cable is supplied by Beckhoff within the ZK Motor Cables series and is intended to link drive controllers to servo motors in automated machinery. The assembly is supplied in a 5.00 m length and is fitted with a plug that contains male contacts on the controller side and an open-end termination for direct wiring to the motor junction box. This arrangement supports a preassembled connection at the drive end and direct field termination at the motor end. Five conductors are included so the harness matches devices that use a five-pin interface. A continuous braided shield surrounds the cores to limit electromagnetic interference generated by switching drives during normal motor operation.
The connector on the drive end uses an M12 interface with A-coded keying, which helps maintain correct phase assignment when the cable is connected to Beckhoff servo inverters. Inside the molded housing, the conductors provide a total cross-section of 5 x 0.25 mm², which balances flexibility with copper resistance for low-power motor circuits. Each core uses a 32 x 0.10 mm strand layout that improves bending endurance during dynamic machine cycles. At an ambient temperature of 40 °C, the assembly can carry up to 4 A continuously and is rated for line potentials of 60 V. These electrical values suit compact motor connections where low voltage and consistent signal integrity are required.
Mechanical durability is provided by the PUR (Polyurethane) outer jacket, which resists oil, coolants, and abrasion in moving cable carriers. Individual conductors are insulated with PP (Polypropylene), a material that keeps the cable diameter small while preserving dielectric strength. The cable has a service life of 2 million flex cycles, making it suitable for high-duty energy-chain applications. During installation, the coupling nut should be tightened to only 0.6 Nm to help prevent damage to the connector threads.
