Product Description:
The ZK4000-2210-2250 is a motor power and feedback cable produced by Beckhoff within the ZK Motor Cables series. It serves as the dedicated interconnect between a servo drive and a matched rotary motor, allowing simultaneous transmission of power, control signals, and protective ground. By matching Beckhoff drive interfaces, the cable supports installation in distributed I/O cabinets and moving axes on production lines, and its molded strain reliefs help reduce cable fatigue during continuous motion. Because power and feedback circuits are carried in one assembly, cable routing stays more compact around servo axes and machine frames.
Mechanical flexibility requires a minimum static bend radius of 8 x outer diameter, while dynamic routing requires 10 x outer diameter. Polypropylene insulation and a PUR outer jacket resist oils and weld spatter, and an outer diameter of 7.5 mm ± 0.3 mm helps keep cable carriers properly sized. On the drive side, a shielded 9-pole D-Sub plug combines encoder, brake, and thermistor contacts, while the machine side uses a keyed 12-pole round connector that locks against vibration. This connector arrangement keeps the electrical interfaces organized at both ends and suits applications where the cable is clamped, guided, or repeatedly flexed during axis travel.
Signal integrity is supported by a twisted-pair layout of 4 x 2 x 0.25 mm², which provides balanced impedance for incremental or absolute encoder lines. A tinned-copper braid with at least 85% coverage attenuates electromagnetic fields so servo position data remain reliable beside high-current power conductors. This conductor arrangement keeps sensitive feedback paths within the same cable while maintaining separation from the motor power circuits. The conductor insulation and overall jacket are rated for a maximum of 300 V AC, and each assembly is dielectric-tested at 1500 V.
