The ZK4000-2210-2050 motor cable is supplied by Beckhoff within the ZK Motor Cables series. This flexible assembly routes power and feedback signals between servo amplifiers and moving machine components, and its construction is intended for continuous operation inside drag chains on production lines and packaging equipment. Repeated flexing is common on automated axes, so the cable is built to keep electrical performance stable while the machine cycles through motion. Its role is to connect moving motor circuits without interrupting signal quality as the axis accelerates, stops, and reverses direction.
Eight tinned-copper conductors are arranged as four twisted pairs with a conductor layout of 4 x 2 x 0.25 mm², and this geometry helps limit crosstalk while fitting standard clamp entries. Direct current losses are capped by a conductor resistance of ≤76.0 Ω/km, which helps reduce voltage drop over the permitted run length. The insulation system withstands an operating potential of 300 V AC, and the PUR outer sheath has a diameter of 7.5 mm ±0.3 mm for compact routing through chain links. An aluminum-laminated braid provides electromagnetic coverage of ≥85%, which helps reduce interference near encoder and fieldbus wiring. Twisted pairs also help keep signal transmission consistent when the cable runs beside other moving conductors in the same carrier. The PUR jacket supports repeated movement in confined cable carriers where abrasion resistance and flexibility are both important.
In motion, the cable tolerates carrier speeds up to 3 m/s and acceleration peaks of 20 m/s² without cracking or insulation creep. Installation length is limited to 5 m, which helps keep voltage drop, signal skew, and mechanical sag within acceptable limits for servo systems. Dielectric strength is verified at a test level of 1500 V, providing margin above the rated operating voltage during insulation testing. That combination is useful where frequent starts, stops, and reversals place both mechanical and electrical stress on the cable.
