Product Description:
The ZK2020-3132-0002 motor cable is produced by Beckhoff as part of the ZK Motor Cables series. It is a short, pre-assembled link between an M8 servo device and a matching field component, intended to carry power and feedback signals in compact automation modules where space is limited. By combining molded connectors with drag-chain compatible materials, the cable simplifies installation and helps maintain reliable motor operation on pick-and-place axes and other high-cycle machinery. Its compact form is useful where cable routing space is limited and connector clearance is tight.
Its conductors have a cross-section of 4 x 0.34 mm² (AWG22), formed from 42 x 0.10 mm stranded copper so the bundle stays flexible under constant motion. A 4-pin A-coded contact arrangement fits standard M8 I/O ports, with the plug on Head A mating with the drive and the socket on Head B continuing the loop to the actuator. The assembled length is only 0.20 m, which helps reduce excess slack inside compact control spaces. For dynamic routing in energy chains, the design withstands longitudinal accelerations up to 10 m/s² and linear travel speeds of 5 m/s without conductor fatigue. Current-carrying capacity reaches 4 A at 40°C, supporting low-power servo motors while staying within thermal limits for dense wiring ducts.
Mechanical protection is provided by a wear-resistant jacket made of PUR (polyurethane), which offers oil resistance and helps keep particles from reaching the strand bundle during repetitive bending. Electrical insulation between cores is polypropylene, enabling operation at system potentials up to 50 V AC/60 V DC. Installation torque for the metal coupling nuts is specified at 0.4 Nm, which helps maintain a secure connection without deforming the threads. When routed through a drag chain, the cable must follow a minimum bend radius of 10 times its outer diameter, and that minimum drops to six times the diameter for freely moved loops, allowing tight routing behind linear guides and inside compact enclosures.
