The ZK2000-3522-0001 is a motor connection lead produced by Beckhoff within the ZK Motor Cables series. It links field-mounted servo motors to decentralized I/O or drives, carrying both power and signals in dynamic machine zones. An A-coded M8 plug on the drive side mates with matching receptacles, while two straight M8 sockets fan out on the motor side to simplify parallel wiring and reduce the need for a separate junction point near the axis. The cable jacket is PUR for oil and abrasion resistance, and polypropylene insulation surrounds the individual cores; no internal shield is present, so electromagnetic compatibility must be managed at the cabinet or drive level.
The mechanical flex life is supported by a minimum bend radius of 6 x outer cable diameter, allowing routing through tight drag-chain channels without conductor fatigue. Power transmission relies on a cross-section of 3 x 0.25 mm² (AWG24), and each core uses 32 x 0.10 mm fine strands to keep the cable flexible during repeated motion. Electrically, the assembly is rated for 50 V AC/60 V DC, and it can continuously carry 4 A at 40°C before thermal derating is required. The straight threaded coupling on every connector is tightened to 0.4 Nm, which helps maintain contact integrity under vibration, and A-coding prevents mismatching with sensor lines that use the same shell size.
Two parallel segments, each 2 x 0.18 m, reduce loop area and keep spindle packages compact. During reciprocating axes, the cable can travel up to 5 m/s and withstand peak accelerations of 10 m/s² without conductor migration. A mass of 28 kg/km helps keep cable-chain loading predictable and supports selection of suitable carrier supports. The short branch length also helps control cable routing where space around a moving motor or spindle assembly is limited.
