Product Description:
The ZK1090-9191-0005 motor cable is manufactured by Beckhoff within the ZK Motor Cables series. This pre-assembled lead connects compact servomotors to Beckhoff drive modules. It provides controlled power delivery and differential signal transmission for position feedback in industrial automation systems.
With an overall length of 0.50 m, the cable can be installed in tight enclosures without excess slack. Its 4 × 2 × AWG26 twisted-pair structure supports Ethernet communication up to Cat.5 performance class while maintaining the 0.14 mm² conductor cross-section. Tinned copper conductors are surrounded by individual foils and a braided screen that yields 90 % shield coverage, reducing crosstalk and electromagnetic pickup. Between any core and the surrounding shield the insulation withstands 1500 V DC, and core-to-core separation endures 1000 V DC, allowing safe segregation of power and encoder lines in mixed-signal layouts. Loop resistance is limited to 280 Ω/km, so the short segment introduces negligible voltage drop. Mutual capacitance remains 51 pF/m at 1 kHz and the unbalanced capacitance to ground is 1600 pF/km, preserving edge integrity on fast serial buses.
The molded 8-pin connectors carry power conductors rated for 60 V while the signal pins may operate up to 160 V. A temperature-stable design permits a continuous load of 1 A at 50 °C through each contact without derating. With a signal propagation delay of 5.08 ns/m, the assembly adds only 2.5 ns to the link budget, which is negligible in servo control loops that close within microseconds. The internal dielectric supports the wire-to-wire insulation requirement and the loop impedances defined for differential pairs. By combining the specified voltage rating, dielectric values, and the 8-pin pinout, the cable ensures reliable motor commutation, encoder feedback, and protective earth continuity within Beckhoff decentralized drive systems.
