Product Description:
The ZK1090-6292-0100 is a flexible cable assembly from Beckhoff that belongs to the ZK Motor Cables series. It routes both power and Ethernet-based control signals between cabinet drives and field-mounted devices, supporting distributed servo axes and I/O stations in automated machinery. This arrangement suits machine layouts where electrical power and network communication need to travel together along the same moving cable path.
The cable is rated for 600 V, so its insulation withstands common drive supply potentials without extra protective conduit. A star quad core layout pairs the conductors symmetrically, minimizing crosstalk between power and differential data lines. Overall length is 10.00 m, allowing controller panels to sit several meters from moving axes while keeping signal integrity within limits. A jacket made of PUR resists cutting oils and continuous flexing, and the round profile measures 6.5 mm in outer diameter, fitting easily into drag-chain channels. Inside, four 0.34 mm² cores are each built from seven 0.25 mm strands, and this fine stranding reduces bending stress during repeated motion. Shielding combines an aluminum-clad foil with a tinned copper braid to block electromagnetic interference. One end terminates in an M12 female, D-coded connector, and the opposite end uses an RJ45 male plug so the cable can link field components directly to standard Ethernet switches or Beckhoff couplers without adapters.
The design withstands 3 million drag-chain cycles, so repeated reciprocating motion will not crack insulation or break conductors during typical machine lifetimes. It remains reliable up to a linear speed of 4 m/s and endures peak accelerations of 4 m/s², parameters that match fast pick-and-place gantries. Maximum recommended travel is 4.5 m; beyond that, additional guides are advised to avoid over-tension. For timing-critical fieldbus communication, the signal delay is only 5.3 ns/m, allowing deterministic EtherCAT or Ethernet/IP traffic even on long machine sections.
