Product Description:
The ZK1090-6291-0100 motor cable is produced by Beckhoff within the ZK Motor Cables series. It is a prefabricated hybrid lead that carries power and signal lines from drive controllers to field-mounted servomotors in EtherCAT installations. The assembly integrates factory-terminated M12 and RJ45 interfaces, so motion wiring can be routed without manual crimping. Combining power and communication pairs in one sheath simplifies panel layout and supports deterministic motion control.
The cable is supplied in a fixed length of 10.00 m, which eliminates on-site cutting and helps avoid impedance mismatches. Internally, a star quad geometry spaces the differential pairs evenly, and a characteristic impedance of 100 Ω ±15 Ω at 100 MHz helps maintain stable signal quality. Each data core is formed from 7 x 0.25 mm stranded tinned-copper wires, and the overall power and feedback bundle uses a 1 x 4 x 0.34 mm² layout that corresponds to AWG22. Aluminum-clad foil combined with a tinned-copper braid provides 360-degree shielding against radiated noise, and the listed signal running time of 5.3 ns/m keeps propagation delay within normal controller timing limits across the full cable length.
At the field end, a straight female D-coded M12 socket mates with the motor housing, and the opposite side uses a straight male RJ45 plug for controller connection. The M12 interface withstands impulse peaks of 2.5 kV and is rated for 4 A at 40 °C of continuous current with an operating voltage of 160 V. A flexible PUR outer jacket resists oil and coolant during dynamic drag-chain service, while the sheath diameter remains 6.5 mm ± 0.2 mm to fit standard cable clamps. Mechanical testing allows up to 3 million bending cycles, and the specified shielding helps keep crosstalk low during motion.
