Product Description:
The ZK1090-6191-0050 motor cable is manufactured by Beckhoff as part of the ZK Motor Cables series. It is supplied as a pre-terminated assembly that carries both drive power and Ethernet signals between control cabinets and moving servo axes, simplifying wiring in automated machinery. By combining M12 and RJ45 terminations in one lead, the product streamlines networked motion control where compact routing and quick installation are required.
This cable is delivered in a fixed length of 5.00 m, giving enough reach for typical machine segments while remaining short enough to minimize voltage drop. Its insulation withstands up to 600 V, so the power conductors can be used in higher-voltage servo connections. A star-quad layout separates the data pair from the power conductors, reducing crosstalk during simultaneous transmission. Each conductor uses 7 x 0.25 mm stranding, a geometry that balances flexibility with current-carrying capacity. The outer sheath is made of PUR (Polyurethane), a material chosen for abrasion resistance and chemical stability in energy-chain applications. Both ends use straight connectors, and the assembly is male on each side to match standard servo drive receptacles.
The cable has a straight-through, male-to-male interface with an M12 D-coded plug on Head A and an RJ45 plug on Head B. The power conductors can carry up to 4 A at 40 °C. Dynamic motion is supported by a flex rating of 3 million cycles at chain radii compatible with the 4.5 m maximum travel distance. During operation, the cable may be moved at speeds up to 4 m/s and accelerations of 4 m/s² without exceeding its mechanical limits. The copper geometry gives a signal propagation delay of 5.3 ns/m, so timing skew over the full length remains within EtherCAT tolerances for synchronous axis control.
