Product Description:
The ZK1090-6161-0300 motor cable is produced by Beckhoff within the ZK Motor Cables series. Intended for servo drive installations, it routes power conductors and digital feedback pairs between a drive controller and its matched rotary motor. The assembly uses two straight, male, 4-pin, D-coded M12 plugs as end connections, which fit common field-mounted sockets without additional adapters. By combining standardized connectors with a factory-terminated cable, the product supports straightforward installation and maintains consistent electrical parameters in automated production equipment.
The cable is supplied in a fixed length of 30.00 m, so long-travel axes can be served without splicing. Its power cores are rated for 600 V and use a 1 x 4 x 0.34 mm² (AWG 22) conductor arrangement; each core uses a finely stranded 7 x 0.25 mm conductor that tolerates continuous flexing. A differential pair with a characteristic impedance of 100 Ω ±15 Ω at 100 MHz supports EtherCAT or other high-speed motor feedback. The molded M12 interface is rated for a continuous load of 4 A at 40 °C, matching the current drawn by compact servo motors. A thermoplastic jacket gives the cable an overall diameter of 6.5 mm ± 0.2 mm and, when the threaded coupling is tightened, the connection achieves a protection class of IP65/67 against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets.
For transient disturbances, the connector withstands impulse voltages up to 2.5 kV, providing ample headroom over the 160 V working limit of the signal contacts. Low electrical loss is supported by a contact resistance of < 5 mΩ, while dielectric insulation remains secure with a resistance of ≥ 10 GΩ. Data propagation delay is minimized, with a specified running time of 5.3 ns/m, allowing deterministic bus timing along the full route. Mechanical service life reaches 3 million bending cycles because of the fine-strand cores and abrasion-resistant sheath, and the screw locking requires only 0.6 Nm, reducing strain on panel bulkheads.
