Product Description:
Beckhoff manufactures the ZK1090-6161-0060 cable within its ZK Motor Cables series to carry power and feedback between drives and motors in automated machinery. The assembly is fitted with an M12 male straight, 4-pin, D-coded connector that mates directly with decentralized servo terminals. Its PUR outer jacket resists oils and abrasion, so the cable can be routed through machine gantries or drag chains without additional conduit while preserving ingress protection in IP-rated installations.
The conductor set is arranged as a 1 × 4 × 0.34 mm² (AWG22) twisted quartet that limits loop impedance and supports a continuous load of 4 A at 40 °C. An overall tinned-copper braid adds shielding, and the assembly maintains IP65/67 protection when the connector is tightened to the recommended 0.6 Nm. With a nominal length of 6.00 m and a 6.5 mm outer diameter, the cordset fits standard cable trays and energy-chain cavities. Contact resistance remains below 5 mΩ, while insulation resistance is no less than 10 GΩ, which helps reduce voltage drop and leakage during repeated operation. The PUR jacket withstands a test potential of at least 2000 V and has a service voltage of 160 V under normal operating conditions.
The design also addresses surge and dynamic stresses. It endures up to 3 million flex cycles in continuously moving applications and tolerates impulse transients of 2.5 kV on the power pairs. Shield efficiency reaches ≥ 40 dB, which helps contain electromagnetic emissions and protect signals carried in the same harness. Propagation delay is limited to 5.3 ns/m, supporting synchronized drive commands over longer cable runs. The connector’s captive gasket and the cable’s molded strain relief help the assembly stay secure during repeated motion.
