Product Description:
The ZK1090-3191-1100 cable is produced by Beckhoff within the ZK Motor Cables series. It is supplied as a pre-terminated assembly that connects an M8 sensor interface on the motor side to an RJ45 port on the controller, allowing simultaneous power distribution and EtherCAT communication in multi-axis automation. The cable is intended to simplify routing between servo terminals and moving carriages while maintaining electrical integrity in continuous-flex environments. This arrangement also reduces the need to route separate cables along the same moving axis.
Electrically, the line is approved for up to 600 V between power conductors, with an operating limit of 125 V when only control potentials are present. Differential pairs maintain a characteristic impedance of 100 Ω ±15 Ω, which helps keep signal reflections low across 100 Mbps communication. The power cores use a strand layout of 7 × 0.25 mm, balancing flexibility with current-carrying capability, while auxiliary devices may draw up to 1.5 A through the molded M8 plug on Head B. An external diameter of 6.5 mm ± 0.2 mm helps keep the cable compact for tight routing paths, and the PUR outer jacket resists oil and weld spatter. The individual pairs are enclosed by a copper braid that covers at least 85% of the circumference to limit electromagnetic interference. Head A tolerates 50 VAC or 60 VDC, and the nominal propagation delay is 5.3 ns per meter.
The cable is intended for use in energy chains on moving axes. The data pair uses a 1 × 4 × 0.34 mm² (AWG22) construction that supports repeated torsion while preserving impedance stability. A total length of 10.00 m supports point-to-point installation on machines with a travel range of 4.5 m. The assembly is rated for up to 3 million flex cycles at chain speeds of 4 m/s. These operating limits suit applications where the cable bends repeatedly along a controlled travel path.
