The ZK1090-3191-1080 is a connection lead manufactured by Beckhoff for the ZK Motor Cables series. It links a synchronous motor to its drive controller in automated equipment. The design combines signal pairs for encoder transmission with low-voltage conductors for auxiliary power. This arrangement provides a single cable for coordinated motion, accurate feedback, and compact routing inside drag chains.
Electrical performance is based on a Cat.5 topology, so the twisted pairs support 100 MHz differential signaling for EtherCAT feedback channels. The internal geometry uses a 4 × 2 × AWG26 layout, with eight tinned copper conductors arranged as four balanced pairs to suppress crosstalk while keeping the cable flexible. Ground-referenced capacitance is limited to 1600 pF/km, helping preserve signal integrity over the eight-meter run. The wire-to-shield test voltage is rated at 1500 V DC, while the wire-to-wire test voltage is rated at 1000 V DC. These insulation ratings allow the paired conductors to coexist with low-voltage supply lines. The direct-current loop resistance is 280 Ω/km, which limits voltage loss when the motor encoder draws power.

The assembled cable is supplied in a length of 8.00 m and has an outside diameter of 5.9 mm, allowing it to pass through compact energy chains. Operating circuits can carry up to 60 V, which is suitable for extra-low-voltage applications. A braided foil shield provides 90% coverage around the cable and directs emitted electrical noise to ground. The signal propagation delay is 5.08 ns/m, supporting high-speed communication along the cable.
